A friend of my aunt Karen's who lived in Lake Charles, LA, asked me last summer if I could come to their deanery vocations meeting to give a 5 hour workshop.
At this point people were not asking me to do this much, so I said yes. I was entering new territory!
That morning, I arrived at the small parish of Immaculate Conception in Sulphur to encounter technical difficulties. By the grace of God by the time all the parishioners were in their seats, I was ready.
Only around 20 people would attend, but it was the perfect amount to practice this workshop! 80% of them did not know about Vocation Ministry, which I found out is typical, so answering many questions was key. They were ready to get to work and could not have been more kind and complimentary!
The workshop was a success! They said they have the tools they need to get busy for vocations! Exactly what I wanted to hear!
God bless you! St. Alphonsus Liguori, pray for us!
One of the tables at the workshop, decorated so beautifully for fall and vocations!
