My trip to Youngstown started in Pittsburgh as I flew into their airport! My friend Fr. Michael Ackerman met me at the airport and took me to lunch and on a VERY old cable car to get an incredible view of the city!
Then, we decide to meet the Vocation Director for Youngstown at Sts. John and Paul Parish. Fr. Daniel DiNardo built this beautiful church 3 years before becoming Bishop DiNardo of Sioux City in 1998! Check out his picture!!! Now, you know him as Cardinal DiNardo, President of the USCCB and bishop of Galveston-Houston! What an unexpected blessing visiting one of “His” churches was.
The next day was the parishioner workshop for the Diocese of Youngstown which is ready to explode with vocations! This is my 34th diocese, and this workshop with over 100 attendees inspired in a profound way! For such a small diocese, they came out in full force!
Fr. Chris Luoni led an inspiring time of Adoration for Vocation, and Bishop Murry, S.J. declared a Year of Vocations for the diocese by the end of the workshop!
I met many parishioners and seminarians who are ready to get to work!
