Vocation Resources:

Community Meals

Strengthen parish bonds and inspire vocations with community meals. Whether it’s donuts after Mass, a pancake breakfast, or a Lenten fish fry, these gatherings create a joyful setting for parishioners to connect and explore God’s call. A vocation ministry can use these events to share resources and spark conversations about priesthood, religious life, or marriage.

Set up a vocations table with brochures, prayer cards, and discerner’s packets to invite exploration. Display a priest or sister cutout or a diocesan seminarian poster to keep vocations visible. If seminarians or religious attend, invite them to share brief testimonies, making vocations feel real and relatable. Even without their presence, simple displays and prayers can plant seeds of discernment.

These gatherings foster personal encounters that break down barriers, showing the joy of a life dedicated to service. As Saint Catherine of Siena said, “Be who God meant you to be, and you will set the world on fire.” Host a community meal to create moments where hearts are ignited for vocations.
