VM Vocation Resources :: Parish Phase II Prayer Traveling Vocations Chalice Program

Traveling Vocations Chalice Program

A great way to build a vocation-minded parish is by fostering awareness through prayer—and the Traveling Vocations Chalice Program makes this visible and engaging. Inspired by the Serra Club, this activity invites families or classrooms to bring home a chalice (and paten, if available) used in the celebration of Mass.

The presence of this sacred vessel in the home serves as a daily reminder to pray for vocations and opens hearts to God’s invitation. It naturally prompts conversation, especially among children: What is the chalice? Who uses it? Could God be calling me to something special?

By integrating this practice into parish life, the chalice becomes more than a symbol of the priesthood—it becomes a sign of hope. Each week, as the chalice is passed to a new household, a chain of prayer is formed, one family at a time.

Wee Apostles is offering FREE kids vestments for any schools or parishes that are participating in the Traveling Vocations Chalice or Traveling Cross program!
